You've booked the venue, found the dress and spent months meeting with and choosing suppliers. You're on the home stretch and your wedding is just a few weeks away. Wouldn't it be nice to hand over the last-minute arrangements so you can relax and enjoy the build-up to your day? Essex-based wedding planner Helen Carter is offering readers the chance to win a Final Weeks Wedding Management service, worth £850. The winning couple will meet with Helen six to eight weeks before the wedding to hand over the arrangements. They will visit the venue together for a wedding day walk-through, and Helen will offer advice and recommendations for any outstanding suppliers. All of the last-minute arrangements, like confirmation of guest numbers, will be taken care of on the couple's behalf, and suppliers will be provided with an information pack containing directions, emergency contact details and details of specific instructions. In the run-up to the wedding Helen will provide the bride- and groom-to-be, and their wedding party with unlimited telephone and email support, and will assist guests with their travel and accommodation arrangements. She will also create a schedule for the day to ensure everything flows smoothly, and will be on hand throughout the event to add the finishing touches to the venue, liaise with suppliers, keep track of timings and deal with any little hiccups that may arise. All the lucky winners will need to do is relax and enjoy their first day as husband and wife.
Helen designs and coordinates weddings across the south-east. For more information, visit the website www.helencarterweddings.co.uk |

At long last: the bitingly cold weather is behind us. I don't know about you, but I find a bit of pampering goes a long way to putting a sprightly spring back in my step.
It's a good job that pampering's perked me up a bit, because it's all systems go here in the County Wedding Magazines studio.
Apart from the fact we're launching yet another title in our portfolio (Your Manchester Wedding), we've been industriously putting together an issue that's jam packed full of fabulous features.
Also, if you're planning your wedding and have some stories and top tips to share, write to me!
Enjoy!

The 1920's, 30's and 40's graced us with so many fashion icons: Greta Garbo, Katherine Hepburn, Bette Davies, and Jean Harlow; all women who would go on to inspire some of today's biggest bridal designers, from the lavish frills of Ian Stuart to the country-vintage designs of Claire Pettibone.
One thing is for sure though: anyone can wear a vintage-inspired design. If you picture yourself as a bit of a 1920's flapper girl on your wedding day, this look has an emphasis on women who have a slight, slender shape. The sleek gowns are shaped like tunics, and some have intricate detailing on a low-slung waist and panelled skirts. Brides looking to reflect the 1920's era should finish their look, just like couture designer Lindsay Fleming has, with pretty detailed headdresses adorned with feathers, and strings upon strings of pearls.
For more information on the perfect vintage wedding gown, see pages 44-46 of the current issue. |

| Five steps to the perfect seating plan |

Your reception depends upon it, so get it right and make your celebrations unforgettable.
It's a difficult job at the best of times, but when your big day is just around the corner, putting togethera seating plan for 50 or more guests can seem like mission impossible. It's an important task, too; even if yours is a casual affair, letting guests choose their own seats could result in complete chaos.
I'm sorry to say that this is an area where wedding planners have no choice but to take a back seat: after all, you and your fiancé are the ones who know all of your guests and, most importantly, the family dynamics. But don't fret - County Wedding Magazines has put together a foolproof guide to getting your table plan done and dusted, so you can relax and enjoy the run-up to your big day.
For a full guide to creating the perfect seating plan, see pages 85-86 of the current issue. |
| Louise and Dan's elegant day at Braxted Park |
| |
 |
| |
College sweethearts Dan Irons and Louise Fox, both 31, met when they were put in the same class back in 1997. They became close friends immediately and kept in touch after leaving college, but it wasn't until some seven years later on a night out that love began to blossom. "Something just clicked," says Louise. "We are a perfect match, and he is very romantic: he always does such sweet things when I least expect it."
"Dan grew up in Feering, which is where we both live now. It was very important to us - and to Dan's parents - that we got married in the local village church. Braxted Park is nearby, and we have played golf there many times. The first time I saw the place I knew I would get married there one day. We didn't even look at another venue!"
For more information on Louise and Dan's elegant big day, see pages 30-34 of the current issue. |
