Make you dazzling debut in a stunning gown perfectly suited to your wedding style and venue.

Whether you're a city girl at heart, or a sweet country bride, once you've chosen the venue for the big day it's full steam ahead building the wedding around that setting. Everything from the table decorations to the transport reflects your individual style. so why should your outfit be any different?

What we love about sassy city brides is their ability to push back the style boundaries and go all out with unconventional accessories. Think chic monochrome for the bridesmaids, and glitzy accessories and clashing statement heels for the bride. Those dresses that are perfect for a city celebration should be pretty but practical and might be made from sheaths of soft silk satin, with simple, delicate details like french beading or vibrant corsages for an elegant but edgy style. slim-fitting or sexy shorter styles will ooze glamour for a look that stands out from the crowd.

That's not to say that a wedding held in the sticks won't stand out from the crowd. Imagine a day filled with beautiful touches - a dreamy celebration of the British countryside. Colours are either bold and bright or pretty pastels, with plenty of floral prints and accessories for the maids and mothers. Bridal gowns are bigger and fuller, and with even more detailing. Try layers of tulle and vintage lace for the ultimate romantic look.

For more information on finding the perfect gown for your wedding style and venue, see pages 53-56 of the current issue.

Top tips
I'd love to be a dab hand with a camera. However, I really am no photographer and even the most basic point and click digital is beyond my mastering; the results rarely make it off the camera, let alone into a picture frame. So it was with interest that I read the tips on page 109 explaining how to make the most of wildlife photography while on honeymoon.

But this hasn't been the only revelation for me this issue, thanks to Lisa Morgan's wine guide. While I do enjoy a glass of dry white, I'm no sommelier and it's certainly given me more idea about choosing wine to complement food. If you're about to embark on the tricky task of finding the perfect wedding tipple, I recommend checking out page 66.

Happy planning

Bring out the socialite in you and return to the heady, indulgent days of a bygone era, says Laura Binder...

If there's one day to go all out on, it's the big day. So, if ideas of grandeur are filling your wedding fantasies, don't rein them in, embrace a bout of sheer indulgence and take inspiration from the British Regency's high society.
This era was all about powdered wigs, silky satins and frivolous aristocracy, all of whom had one aim: pleasure.

But, to make this devilishly delightful look work in 2010 you don't need a budget to rival British nobility. If your venue is a stately home or historic house you've got a match made in heaven. However, it's just as easy to give plain marquees an extravagant overhaul with a few choice details.

For starters, adorn your tables with the finest cutlery, crystal glassware and matching china - try vintage hire for an economical option. For flowers, think flamboyant. "Back then arrangements were all about frilly, romantic blooms in pastel hues," floral expert Sarah Holland tells me. "If couples want to replicate this period, they should ask florists for gladioli, snapdragons, lilac, and garden style cabbage roses."

Our day: Jenna & Adam

Our day: Jenna & Adam

Jenna and Adam enjoyed an August celebration fit for a princess...

It was back in November 2004 that Jenna and Adam first set eyes on each other while out celebrating a mutual friend's birthday party. Their first date was obviously a success and less than two years later, Adam decided Jenna's 21st birthday was the ideal opportunity to pop the question. "Adam took me to the Hydro Hotel for a romantic meal for two, he even wore a suit and tie," Jenna explains."It was a gorgeous sunny evening and after the meal we went for a walk along the seafront. After a while we sat down on a bench overlooking the sea and Adam finally plucked up the courage to ask me to marry him."

We held our reception at The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne and it was perfect. The Compton room was breathtaking and was the ideal setting for our fairytale-themed wedding. It was also local to us and a central place for all of our guests to get to. The staff were brilliant and made us feel like royalty for the day. And anyway, you can't live on the sunshine coast and not get married by the sea!

I travelled to the church with my mum in a glass Cinderella pumpkin carriage drawn by two white horses. After the ceremony this took me and Adam to the reception venue. Everyone was waving and tooting their car horns and we felt like royalty.

For more information and pictures of Jenna and Adam's big day see pages 76-80 of the current issue.
