An Alpine Affair
Newlyweds who wish to take advantage of winter's delights can escape to the snow-covered mountains of Espace Killy, a ski area in the Savoie region of the French Alps.
Escape Killy is named after former Olympic and World Cup Alpine ski race champion Jean-Claude Killy. Situated between the ski resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isére, it provides access to 300km of piste, making it popular with skiers of all skills.
The charming village of Les Breviéres is considered to be more affordable than its high-profile neighbours Val d'Isére and Tignes.
For more information on Escape Killy and other beautiful romantic hideaways, see pages 116-120 of the current issue. |

As always, we've got an issue packed with inspiration, advice and some wonderful hints and tips for the man of the moment. In fact, you might want to point your fiancé in the direction of our new groom's view feature, the inaugural subject looking at how the modern man is getting more involved in the wedding plans.
If that's not enough to get him champing at the marriage bit, we've also got some great advice on how to choose a bespoke suit.
But probably biggest news this issue is our fantastic honeymoon competition. One of our readers will be jetting off for an amazing honeymoon to Great Exuma in The Bahamas courtesy of Sandals Emerald Bay resort. So if you haven't got your romantic getaway booked up yet, it's certainly worth visiting our website where a few clicks of the mouse will have you in with a chance of winning.
Good luck!

This issue we're going back to black to inspire you with the stylish delights of monochrome. I love the stark contrast of black and white which, when combined, can create a timeless look - ensuring you won;t be filled with regret when you look back on those reception shots in years to come. Why not go all-out on the day and set the scene with a black tie dress code, and have cool martinis served as reception drinks for a touch of 007 style?
Alternatively, take inspiration from Old Hollywood - the epitome of glamour - and name tables after classic black and white movies, or 1950s stars like Marilyn Monroe and Cary Grant.
When it comes to the finer details anything is possible. For flower arrangements choose anemone with white petals and a black centre, or try kangeroo paw, which looks fabulous mixed with classic white blooms, such as roses.
For more ideas on how to create a fabulous black and white wedding theme, see page 70 of the current issue. |

Unless your not too worried about the quality of your wedding photos, a professional is essential.
Now that most of us have a digital camera and a computer, we've all turned into photgraphers overnight. Even precious wedding images no longer need a proffessional. Point, click, print, and there's the album - it's as simple as that, right?
How hard can it be to capture the subtle nuances of the day, like that split-second glance between the newlyweds that reveals their happiness? And what about organising chattering groups into photogenic poses?
Belive us, it's really not that simple and shouldn't be left up to the family friend who's got a great camera - unless, of course, you're not too concerned about the end result.
For more information on how to choose the perfect photographer for your big day, see pages 89 - 93 of the current issue. |

Nicola Capes and Michael Snowdon were married on 17th May 2009 at Buxted Park.
The Run Up:
Nicola, 28, and Mike, 34, first met on the dancefloor of a Brighton club. "We were both out with friends in Brighton and I couldn't resist joining in with Mike's entertaining dance moves," says Nicola. "We had a great chat and arranged to meet up later in the week for dinner."
The Venue:
"We knew that we wanted to hold the ceremony and reception in the same venue," says Nicola. "The ceremony room was important to us - it had to feel special. When we saw the rooms and grounds of Buxted Park, we were so impressed and we realised that it would be a truly memorable location for our special day."
For more information on Nicola and Michael's 'Day in the park' see pages 78-82.
