It was a happy, emotional day for Sabrina and Giovanni, and the couple also made sure that their guests enjoyed delicious food and good music to dance to...
Sabrina and Giovanni met at college and have been inseparable ever since. They were together for 10 years before getting married and the proposal came while they were on holiday in St Lucia in 2005. To pop the question, Giovanni booked a private dinner in the gazebo above the resort pool overlooking the ocean. "We had our own waitress who had to climb the spiral staircase to bring us a fantastic meal," recalls Sabrina. "Then she came back with a bottle of champagne and a big smile. At this point, Gio started to talk about us and what I mean to him. That's when I started to get suspicious, because although he is romantic, he's not generally that vocal about his feelings. "Then he got down on one knee, presented me with the engagement ring and asked me to marry him. You could have knocked me down with a feather and would have been hard pushed to find a happier person on the planet that day and in the following days, weeks and months."
Sabrina and 15 hens spent a weekend in Bournemouth, while Giovanni and eight friends headed to Manchester for the stag party. Giovanni is remaining tight lipped about his send-off: "What goes on tour stays on tour..."

I'd love to be a dab hand with a camera. However, I really am no photographer and even the most basic point and click digital is beyond my mastering; the results rarely make it off the camera, let alone into a picture frame. So it was with interest that I read the tips on page 98 explaining how to make the most of wildlife photography while on honeymoon.
But this hasn't been the only revelation for me this issue, thanks to Lisa Morgan's wine guide. While I do enjoy a glass of dry white, I'm no sommelier and it's certainly given me more idea about choosing wine to complement food. If you're about to embark on the tricky task of finding the perfect wedding tipple, I recommend checking out page 52.
Happy planning

Start your big day with a journey to remember. We have a few ideas to get you to the venue in style.
Getting from A to B can be straightforward, particularly for couples who choose to get married and have their reception at the same venue. However, those who have to travel quite a distance from the church to the reception will have to think carefully about the type of transport they hire, as well as the timings and traffic involved. There are myriad ways to arrive that fit into the themes, from traditional to modern, retro to quirky - it's all down to what suits your personality, preference and budget.
Go retro - If you're thinking of having a retro or movie themed wedding, what could be more fitting than arriving in a Cadillac, a Ford Thunderbird or a Ford Gran Torino Starsky and Hutch replica car? Whichever you choose, it's bound to get everyone's attention.
Classic beauty - A gleaming Beauford with luxuriousleather seats is just what a bride needs to get her to the church in classic style.
For more transport ideas, see pages 43 & 44 of the current issue. |

Make your dazzling debut in a stunning gown perfectly suited to your wedding style and venue...
Whether you're a city girl at heart, or a sweet country bride, once you've chosen the venue for the big day it's full steam ahead building the wedding around that setting. Everything from the table decorations to the transport reflects your individual style. So why should your outfit be any different?
What we love about sassy city brides is their ability to push back the style boundaries and go all out with unconventional accessories. Think chic monochrome for the bridesmaids, and glitzy accessories and clashing statement heels for the bride. Those dresses that are perfect for a city celebration should be pretty but practical and might be made from sheaths of soft silk satin, with simple, delicate details like French beading or vibrant corsages for an elegant but edgy style. Slim-fitting or sexy shorter styles will ooze glamour for a look that stands out from the crowd.
That's not to say that a wedding held in the sticks won't stand out from the crowd. Imagine a day filled with beautiful touches - a dreamy celebration of the British countryside. Colours are either bold and bright or pretty pastels, with plenty of floral prints and accessories for the maids and mothers.
