Chris and Clare held their classy affair at Hampton Court Palace.
Despite being friends since they were 11 years old, Clare and Chris didn't become a couple until they went off to university. "I always had a bit of a thing for Chris, even though he was just a close friend," explains Clare. "Finding out he had strong feelings for me as well was a total surprise. The romance started to blossom during a break from university, but during term-time Chris was in Durham and I was in Manchester, so we weren't sure how things were going to work out. It wasn't until we'd spent months apart that I realised how much he really meant to me, how much I loved him and how we'd become best friends as well as a couple." Chris proposed on 30th November, 2007 while the couple were on holiday in Brazil.
The happy couple married on 23rd May, 2009 at All Saints' Church in Putney. This was followed by a garden party-themed reception at the Garden Room in Hampton Court Palace, Kingston upon Thames. "We live within the parish of All Saints so it made sense to get married there," explains Clare. "But we didn't realise how beautiful the church was until we went to a few services. It also has a lovely community feel and everyone is very welcoming."
Clare looked stunning in an ivory strapless dress by pronovias, with a buttoned corseted bodice, full skirt and long train. she teamed it with a cathedral-length veil, diamanté sandals from Dune, and a fascinator, diamond brooch, earrings and bracelet - all designed by scott at Tantrums and Tiaras in putney.

Give your locks some much-needed pampering before the big day, with a break in The Cotswolds courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Stuart Holmes.
Top hairstylist Stuart Holmes relocated from London to Cheltenham in 2003, where he established his luxurious hair and beauty salon with his wife Sara. After the move, many of his clients started to regularly travel from London for their appointments so Stuart decided to team up with two of the area's most exclusive hotels to launch the Hair Holiday package. This enables clients to make a relaxing weekend of having their hair done and enjoying some pampering too. Over the past six years the Stuart Holmes Hair and Beauty Spa has gone from strength to strength and now employs 20 professional staff.

Here at County Wedding Magazines HQ, we're getting excited. It's not long until the launch of national Brides at Work day on 17th September, 2010 and we can't wait to take part and dress up in all manner of bridal finery. A Friday at work has never seemed so much fun and we want you to get involved too!
In association with The National Wedding Show, brides old and new from all over the UK are taking part to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, by wearing their wedding dress to work. But if you're a bride-to-be who doesn't want to unveil her gown just yet, there are other ways you can show your support. Why not simply accessorise? A veil and tiara will still make an impact.
Alternatively, rally up your colleagues and organise an office wedding party and host your very own bake sale to raise some cash. Bride at Work isn't just for past or present brides either. We want everyone to get involved! Grooms can don their suits for the day, and mums and bridesmaids can join in by wearing their favourite outfits.
We'll be showing off our pictures from the day, and we want to see yours too! So show some support for a great charity and send in your photos to daniellew@countyweddingmagazines.com and we could print them in a future issue of the magazine with your name and company details. For more information about Brides at Work and to download your fundraising pack, visit www.breakthrough.org.uk/bridesatwork. |
