Hollie and Richard Cross enjoyed all the finer details of their big day when they wed at Wrest Park...
Hollie, 27, and 35-year-old Richard met at a house warming party Hollie and her flatmate threw for the neighbourhood. Richard arrived with a card and two bottles of fizz - and Hollie was smitten from the start. "I was instantly impressed with the gifts and thought he was gorgeous," says Hollie. "We both had a brilliant night and met a lot of future friends. The rest is history and we have been inseparable ever since."
Armed with a group of 10 close friends, Hollie travelled to Brighton for her hen do to enjoy a day of pole dancing and a night of partying. "We arrived at the hotel where I was spoilt with gifts and hideous quizzes that the girls had planned," she explains. "We had so much fun learning to pole dance, but I was a bit tipsy by 4pm and spent the rest of the afternoon walking around Brighton in a pair of sparkly hotpants!"
The couple chose Wrest Park in Silsoe for their reception celebrations after discovering it at a wedding fair, and admit they were 'blown away' by the French style 18th century mansion. Richard adds: "I didn't even know the place existed but it had a very special feel about it."

The summer sun always evokes memories of loved ones' celebrations for me, which is why I'm thrilled to have joined Your Herts & Beds Wedding magazine this month.
You can't beat enjoying a glass of Pimm's or bubbly out on the terrace as you watch the newlyweds strike a pose, and with our special feature on outdoor venues on page 23, you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to picking the ideal location for your big day.
We've also got a fantastic feature on wedding mishaps for you to nose through on page 38, which should help you steer away from any potential big day disasters. Then of course there's the usual fashion and beauty indulgences, with fabulous gowns and flattering highlighters in the spotlight.
After all that talk of Pimm's on the terrace though, I'm off to enjoy a glass or two of something fruity while the sun's still out. It is the season after all...
Happy planning
