| Urban Outfitters to sell Zatchels |
| |
 |
| |
British-based satchel label of the moment, Zatchels, has confirmed its popularity by stocking high street favourite, Urban Outfitters. The leading concept fashion store has placed a significantly large order with the brand, for immediate delivery, with the bags set to be hitting the shop floors within a matter of weeks.
The store has ordered across the company's portfolio of original and distinctive collections, including the Black and White Polka Dot, the Black Cracked Leather Floral Print, the multi-coloured Limited Edition Signature Style, the Brown leather Leopard print, and now the Black leather Leopard print from the Faux Fur collection.
Zatchels Directors, Dean Clarke and Brian Brady are thrilled that the bags have been selected by such an established and young fashion retailer as Urban Outfitters, and are proud to add them to their impressive list of retail stockists along with Liberty's London, Fenwicks, and other independent stores.

| Louis Vuitton partners up with Istituto Marangoni |
| |
 |
| |
Louis Vuitton has announced a partnership with Milan's Istituto Marangoni, one of the most prestigious fashion schools in the world.
The project embodies the spirit of Louis Vuitton and its long-standing tradition for supporting creativity. The label supports different cultural initiatives and programmes for young artists worldwide - such as the partnership with the San Carlo Theatre in Naples, the Louis Vuitton Young Arts Project in London in collaboration with five cultural institutions, and the Arts Excellence Programme with the School of Arts in Singapore.
The partnership with Istituto Marangoni will enable Louis Vuitton to pay tribute to the city of Milan with a project that will allow underprivileged, up-and-coming talents to obtain access to unique experiences and training programmes in the throbbing heart of the fashion world.
"We are very honoured to associate our name with a renowned fashion school like Istituto Marangoni for this worthy project," says Yves Carcelle, Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton. "The transmission of savoir-faire and creativity is one of the Louis Vuitton's milestones. We are committed to supporting young talents and providing for their education worldwide, and we hope this partnership will contribute to preparing the younger generations for a bright future."
This three-year educational project includes the creation of scholarships for talented underprivileged students; the organising of 'Fashion Talks' between the school's students and the designers of Louis Vuitton; visits for the school's students to two of Louis Vuitton's most emblematic workshops - the historic leather goods and trunks workshop in Asnieres, established in 1859 just outside Paris, and the Louis Vuitton shoes manufacture at Fiesso d'Artico near Venice. |

| Ringing in the new |
 |
At the start of a new year, we tend to think about what's really important, and with issues of fair trade being more prominent now than ever before, we decided to look at the broad range of labels and designers trying to make a difference to the face of fashion. What is so striking about the world of ethical accessories is the boundless creativity of the designs and production methods. Our feature demonstrates how ethical fashion is far from drab.
As well as our rejuvenated regulars, a competition worth £750RRP with Elegant Emporium and features about the latest watches and casual shoes on the market, we're looking - perhaps just a little wistfully - towards summer already, with a round-up of three key accessories trends from the spring/summer 2012 London Fashion Week catwalks. Meanwhile, style trailblazer Zandra Rhodes proves that the popularity of her wholly original vision shows no sign of waning, with her latest design venture.

The brainchild of Julie Rainer-Seath, Elegant Emporium is now a global brand with a glittering constellation of starlets as fans. From Paris Hilton to Pixie Geldof, the wholesale jewellery label has attracted the attention of fashion mavens on both sides of the Atlantic. A wholesale supplier of red carpet-worthy gems and accessories, Elegant Emporium's inimitable yet classic style stems from Julie's rare talent for adding a modern twist to bracelets, earrings, pendants and brooches.
Based in the leafy town of Warlingham in Surrey, Elegant Emporium offers a personal touch - with a Cash and Carry service for those who want to drop into the showroom. Retailers and buyers can browse and top up their collections in comfort, along with a cup of tea. The label often holds special and seasonal events on-site, such as the Halloween Open Days held on the 31st of October and 1st November, where customers were welcome to cash and carry or place orders, discounts and spooky treats were made available to all visitors.
Synonymous with vintage glamour and popular for special events and dress, Elegant Emporium has enjoyed consistent media exposure. Pixie Lott is a prolific wearer of the jewellery, having worn pieces from the collection on The Graham Norton Show, as well as at a variety of media events. | The Prima Solutions Adventure returns for seventh year |
| |
This month, with the launch of the seventh Prima Solutions Adventure Challenge - which takes place on 26th May, 2012 - leading overseas aid and development agency, CARE International, has asked the fashion and retail sectors to challenge poverty.
Sponsored by Prima Solutions - one of the UK's leading suppliers of complete multi-channel IT solutions to the clothing, footwear and accessories markets - the event has been held at a different stunning UK location annually for the past six years. In 2012, teams will descend on Purbeck Peninsula on the south coast to complete a marathon distance on foot, bike and kayak. The demanding day will finish with a well-deserved dinner and party in Bournemouth where awards will be presented to winners.
CARE helps people to be masters of their own situation - strengthening their ability to influence decision-makers, realise their rights to crucial services and resources or helping people work their own way out of poverty through vital financial services like small savings and loans schemes.
CARE strikes a chord with the fashion and retail industries, with projects including microfinance services helping garment workers, shoemakers and tailors to start or expand their small businesses, allowing them to feed their family and send their children to school. Helping small stallholders to increase their profits through diversifying their stock, or creating a co-operative of fabric dyers to invest profits back into their community are also ways that the organisation assists communities.
For further information visit www.carechallenge.org.uk or call the CARE team on +44 (0)207 091 6111. |

| Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair shows continued growth |
| |
 |
| |
The recent Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair proved itself again to be the world's premier jewellery show with its 29th event in September. With more than 3,450 exhibitors from 46 countries, and 51,500 trade visitors from 155 countries, the show had the largest turnout in the fair's history.
Director of Jewellery Fairs, UBM Asia, Celine Lau said of the figures: "The September Fair's continued growth is testament to the strong reputation that it enjoys globally. The high visitor attendance from China and India was not surprising, considering that these two markets are the main drivers of jewellery demand today. What was even more encouraging was the growth in visitor attendance from the USA and Italy - 29 and 42 per cent respectively."
"There was also notable growth in visitor numbers from Brazil, Israel, Iran, Russia, Taiwan, Turkey and the UAE. This tells us clearly that apart from traditional and mainstream jewellery trends, there are emerging markets that show great potential to become a force of growth in the future."
