Debbie Carlisle releases new bridesmaids' range

Debbie Carlisle releases new bridesmaids' range

Fashion-forward brides and their maids are the focus of a new range of ethereal and edgy accessories designed specifically for bridesmaids by Debbie Carlisle.

Debbie's new collection promises glamour, sparkle and a few textural surprises, perfect for brides and their maids who are looking for accessories with a bridal feel without being too obviously traditional or twee.

The range fuses vintage-inspired glamour with a modern rock and roll edge and has been created to be worn by both brides and their maids.

Each piece is handmade by Debbie to order and can be created in different colours and sizes at no extra charge.

The versatile collection is designed so bridesmaids can wear the same design in a variety of ways, such as headbands, forehead bands, combs, dress clips, brooches or wrist corsages.

The range mixes traditional bridal materials like diamante jewels and organza ribbons with more unusual textures of soft leather and delicate sculpted silver-plated wire to create a soft but edgy collection that will appeal to style-conscious women who want something a little different to the bridal norm.

Debbie said: "When it comes to bridal accessories most designers tend to focus on pieces for brides which means bridesmaids often 'end up' with accessories that are either originally designed for brides - or with high street accessories that any wedding guest could pick up.

"I thought it was about time style-conscious bridesmaids got a taste of bespoke bridal design for themselves with pieces created especially for them which can double as a special wedding day gift."

Debbie, who is best known for her intricate vintage jewellery wedding bouquets, added: "I live and work in Sheffield - which is famous for its steel manufacturing and metalwork design - and I was inspired by my home city's heritage when designing this new collection. I work with silver-plated metal wire a lot when creating my bouquets and so it was a natural progression to introduce this material into my accessory designs."

The Debbie Carlisle Bouquets bridesmaids collection is designed to complement Debbie's entire range of modern vintage bridal headpieces so brides can coordinate their look with their maids.

It's show time
Over the coming weeks, bridal retailers will have their pick of two very different trade shows. First up is White Gallery in London, taking place from May 20th-22nd, with its focus firmly on high end bridal couture. Then, just seven weeks later, The Essential Collection 2012 will once again open its doors at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, enabling retailers to order the 2013 collections from leading British bridal designers and manufacturers. Both shows are gathering pace, so for the very latest information, don't miss our upcoming May/June issue.

Rachel Simpson opens new showroom

Rachel Simpson opens new showroom

More brides will be able to get their hands on the creations of a Birmingham shoe designer after she opens a brand new showroom in the area.

Rachel Simpson, owner of Rachel Simpson Ltd, has signed a three-year lease for a 1,361 sq ft unit on Castle Road at SEGRO's Kings Norton Business Centre (KNBC).

Jane Leedham, leasing manager for SEGRO, said: "Rachel's designs are simply stunning. We are pleased to be able to provide the company with a secure unit that has all its requirements under one roof, including a space for customers to enjoy the experience of buying shoes for a special occasion." Rachel said: "Before moving to KNBC I was based in Digbeth. However, the warehouse and office were in separate units, so it wasn't an efficient working space. "We are now in a fantastic, central location that is close to the city centre as well as the motorway network and we have an all-purpose unit with office space, a warehouse and a large showroom, all in one place."

Yolancris presents "Modern Craft", its new wedding collection for 2012, combining handcraft techniques and up-to-date trends.

Each of the dresses has been carefully designed and produced in the Barcelona workshop, using the highest quality European fabrics such as crochet, silk, guipur, or chantilly.

The 'New Sun' range incorporates gorgeous crochet, fringes and feather applications. Close-fitting bodices cling to the figure, in contrast to the fuller skirts, offering movement to the silhouette. A jumpsuit has been introduced as an alternative garment to the dress, an option for the most daring brides.

Also new from Yolancris is 'Lumiere', which pays tribute to 1920's design classics, 'Bohemian Luxury', with its three-quarter-sleeved blouses cut over the hip, and 'Le tre grazie', a sophisticated line of '30s and '40s glamour.
