Sarah Brock created this striking look for the Rainbow Couture 2011 collection campaign. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you recreate it on your wedding day.
- First, apply Daniel Sandler Retexturising Face Primer as a base.
- For a flawless complexion use Chanel Pro Lumiere Foundation, followed by Lancome Effacernes Concealer to cover any imperfections. Set this with Daniel Sandler's Invisible Blotting Powder.
- Sweep a small amount of Daniel Sandler Pressed Blusher in Whisper across the cheeks to achieve a gentle glow.
- Start creating a strong look for the eyes using Lancome Ombre Absolu Duo eyeshadow in G01. For this look, I applied the light shade up to the brow bone and the soft black shadow to the eyelid. When applying black eyeshadow, hold a tissue under your eye to catch any 'drop down' and build up the colour in layers to get the intensity you want.
- Line the eyes using the Daniel Sandler Velvet Waterproof Eyeliner in Black Velvet along the top lash line, the bottom lash line and throughout the inner lower rim.
- Apply glossy black mascara to your lashes. I used the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening Mascara.
- Finish with Daniel Sandler High Impact Lipstick in Peony. Rather than using a lip brush, I patted it on to the lips with my finger for a soft, more natural stain of colour.

A photo thank you
Q - We won't be having favours at our wedding reception, but we would like to thank our guests for attending the day in some way. We thought it might be nice to send them a photographic record of the wedding when it's all over, if possible. Do you have any suggestions of what we could give everyone?
A - Jodie Howe says: There are some great websites where you can get photo gifts created at reasonable prices. Try www.snapfish.co.uk as it has lots of products to choose from, including flip photo books or small printed albums. Some other good sites include www.vistaprint.co.uk or www.bagsoflove.co.uk, which has the option to create mugs and mouse mats, bumper stickers and bags. You could even select your favourite wedding images and create a jigsaw, or another idea would be to create a collage poster from a few photos. Memento magnets and key rings would also prove popular. Good luck!

As 2011 draws to an end and we reflect on yet another successful 12 months of all things bridal, the County Wedding Magazines team has turned its attentions to the up-coming trends for the year ahead
Flowers Francesca Lee, features editor Your Kent Wedding, Your Sussex Wedding Depending on the type of nuptials you opt for, the style of blooms you choose for the big day make a big impact. For modern celebrations a black and white flower combination will be in vogue for 2012. Monochrome bouquets not only look stunning in contemporary venues but also add an art deco style statement, which I think will be all the rage next year. To achieve this look, opt for light blooms with dark centres, such as white anemones combined with black calla lilies. Other touches, such as ribbon wraps and black or white crystals will also complete this style of arrangement.
For a more traditional approach, bouquets with hues such as baby pink, subtle yellow and cream will be on-trend in 2012. Roses, peonies and hydrangeas would be ideal for this look, but remember, whichever flowers you decide on, keep your other styling choices consistent throughout to bring the whole day together. |
