| Romantic hideaways - An alpine affair |

Newlyweds who wish to take advantage of winter's delights can escape to the snow-covered mountains of Espace Killy, a ski area in the Savoie region of the French Alps. Espace Killy is named after former Olympic and World Cup Alpine ski race champion Jean-Claude Killy. Situated between the ski resorts of Tignes and Val d'Isère, it provides access to 300km of piste, making it popular with skiers of all skills.
The charming village of Les Brevières is considered to be more affordable than its high profile neighbours Val d'Isère and Tignes. At the heart of this village is Chalet de la Cloche, where the cosy ambience of a traditional Alpine lodge blends with the stylishness of a boutique hotel; exposed wooden beams and a recessed fireplace mix with brown leather sofas and contemporary furnishings. |

| Getting organised |
 |
In my experience, new year's resolutions are made to be broken. Mine - to be more organised - lasted all of five days. I'm back to my old habits, and with an ever-growing mound of papers surrounding me, I can barely see the desk I'm working at (although on the plus side, it doesn't need a clean so often).
In this issue, we've been sussing out the
hottest bridal trends for 2010, and grooms will be pleased to hear there's a brand new column just for them - after all, these days it's not just the women who make the big-day decisions.
Until next time,

Of course, what photographs you choose for your album is a completely personal choice, but to help you out Your West Midlands Wedding has picked a selection of must-have photos for a fun and stylish documentation of your day.
1. The bride getting ready
We girls love making ourselves look glam at the best of times, and the morning of the wedding couldn't be a more exciting time, especially if you've got your bridesmaids and your mum with you. If the thought of being caught without any make-up fills you with dread, don't worry. Your photographer can capture some beautiful black and white shots of you that will have you looking like Sophia Loren on a film set.
For more must-have shots on your big day, see pages 75 & 76 of the current issue. |
| Our big day: Dani and Chris |
| |
 |
| |
When Chris Barber and Dani Smith married on Friday 26th June, 2009, they only had one thing on their minds... Fun!
Teenage sweethearts Chris and Dani met when they were just 14 and 15, after chatting online and finding out that they went to the same school. "We hadn't spoken to each other before because we were both in different years, but over the space of about three months we became the best of friends," recalls Dani. "Six months later, just as I was about to move to Spain to live for a while, Chris asked me out. I said yes, but by that time we were only able to see each other every couple of months or so. After eight months of living in Spain, I decided to move back to the UK and live with Chris and his family."
My bridesmaids were my sister Natalie, and Chris' sister Helen, and a family friend, Millie, was a flowergirl. The girls wore beautiful tight-fitting, floor-length cream dresses with a darker cream sash around the middle. Some people might suggest cream is an unusual colour choice, but I wanted the girls to wear a similar colour to me. They looked gorgeous.
For more information and pictures of Dani & Chris's big day, see pages 68-72 of the current issue. |
