Louise Carter married Will Neale on 6th September, 2011 at St. Paul's Church in Hyde, followed by a reception at The Midland Hotel, Manchester. The day was littered with daisies and pink accents

Louise and Will met while they were both working in a music shop in 2004. Their first date was very retro as Will took Louise bowling, "It was a lot of fun," she recalls. "Especially when Will slid down the lane. We also got caught kissing by a family friend when he dropped me home that evening."

Will popped the question five years later while on holiday in the Lake District. "He got down on one knee at the top of a hill overlooking Lake Windermere in the freezing cold," remembers Louise. "It was a complete surprise. I found out he had been carrying the ring around all week waiting for the right moment."

It took the couple a year to plan the big day, and both agree they found the church and priest the easiest element to arrange. "Father Denis had conducted several family ceremonies," explains Louise. "We knew we wanted him to marry us, he is fantastic and makes everyone feel at ease. The trickiest thing to organise was the invitations. We designed and made them ourselves and it seemed to take a long time to get them all ready and sent out."

Louise tells us more about their big day on page 26 of the current issue.

New year, new weddings
For many brides, spending time shopping with friends for the bridesmaids' dresses will be one of the most memorable moments of the planning process, so make sure you get it right by following our guide on page 61.

And while your big day transport may not be the first item on your to-do list, it's better not to leave it to the last minute. On page 67 we speak to some experts who will ensure that both you and your groom arrive in style - from Beetles to Bentleys, we've got it covered.

I wish you all the best of luck in planning your weddings and if the celebration is fast approaching, don't worry about the little details. It's the vows and sharing your day with friends and family that counts.

The moment the nation switched on their televisions to see Catherine Middleton step out in her stunning Sarah Burton gown, bridalwear designers all around the world knew that lace would be a hit for 2012. The following month, they were already showcasing their own take on the trend, with many teaming butterfly, three-quarter-length
or full-length lace sleeves with simple silk dupion or taffeta gowns.

And while designers such as Alan Hannah, Ian Stuart and Johanna Hehir have been experimenting with French Chantilly lace overlays, if an all-over lace gown isn't for you, another great way to incorporate this romantic trend into your look is in the form of a bolero or veil. The Vintage Wedding Dress company recently showed off some stunning accessories on the runway, with a selection of scalloped-edged veils and pretty lace sashes.

Big day transport inspiration for the bride and groom

The journey to the ceremony will be something couples remember forever. It's also a special time for the father-of-the-bride and the best man who will accompany the bride and groom during the last moments before they become man and wife.

Choosing the wedding day transport is often left until the last minute, and seen as less of a priority compared to other details of the day. But here at Your Manchester Wedding we think the right vehicle can be the perfect way to make a grand entrance.

Fun and quirky
If couples love classic cars but want something different, Little Limos has the perfect fleet for the big day. The classic VW Beetle Cabriolets, Lili and Suzi, are the very rare triple-white variety and will add the fun factor to photographs, while the stunning VW split-screen campervan called Monty can really set off a themed day and is well-suited to those who have a large entourage. Monty can seat up to six people which is ideal for the bride or groom and their attendants.

And, if neither of those are fitting, there is also the cute retro cabriolet, Maisi, and Barney another all-white campervan. Couples can book them individually or as a package but either way they will definitely cause a stir on the big day.

Decor decision

Q - As I am decorating the venue myself what is the usual procedure when it comes to allowing me to go to the venue to setup. Should I do it the day before, or is it something that is done on the morning of the wedding?

A - Natalee Goas says:
If you are dressing the venue yourself I would always suggest to do it the day before your wedding, to avoid any last minute stress on the day. Ask the venue if they can allocate a time for you to set-up and work with them to ensure it is ready prior to your arrival. Make a note of everything you need to take with you and run through the final details of your day to make sure you haven't missed anything.

When you arrive to dress the venue enjoy doing it your way, and be satisfied everything is absolutely perfect before you leave. You can then relax, knowing the venue will look wonderful ready for your big day!
