  • Use clear headings so that we can easily navigate our way through your career path so far
  • Take care with your spelling and grammar – we are publishers after all
  • Make it easy to read and don’t use strange fonts. Do not use photographs or lots of colours
  • Stick to the facts and don’t exaggerate. Include dates and don’t leave gaps – if you took six months out travelling, say so
  • Keep it ordered – list your most recent experience first
  • Tell us about your key skills and achievements in each role
  • Make sure we can contact you easily and always include your name, address, phone number and email address

Make sure that your covering email or letter explains clearly why you think you are a good match for the advertised post.

Your interview

A job interview is a two-way process and we consider it just as important for us to sell the company to you as it is for you to impress us.

Here are some of the qualities we look for in job candidates.

  • Be on time and prepared.
  • Do your homework on the company. We have many websites to help you research the company and the role.
  • Think carefully about the job you are applying for and how your skills match. We will ask competency-based questions as well as fact finding about you as a person
  • Prepare any relevant questions you may wish to ask about the company and the job.
  • Demonstrate interest and enthusiasm

Current Vacancies

We have an opportunity for an Account Exec who will sell multi-platform advertising solutions to businesses in the wedding industry. We are not expecting you to have previous experience in this industry but it’s a great opportunity to step into the world of media and take full advantage of the training and support we offer.

As we emerge out of lockdown, the wedding industry is already starting to explode into activity, so this is a very exciting industry to be involved in.

It is essential that you have had a few months of work experience in sales either retail or office based, long enough to know that you were good at it, you enjoyed the buzz of sales and know that you work really hard to achieve your targets.

If you are now looking to hone these skills in a professional supportive company, a busy lively team then this is for you.

This is a telephone-based role where you will be calling wedding businesses offering them the latest options to advertise with us in our magazines or on the internet – you would find out about the potential client's business and their aims, what they currently do in terms of advertising and marketing and then offer a solution.

Our range of media titles include 19 County Wedding Magazines' titles covering most of England and South Wales.

Your qualities:

· Previously worked in a sales environment

· Good confident communication skills

· Excellent business acumen able to converse well with a range of clients

· Happy to call new businesses – enjoys phone work

· Willing to learn and develop within the media industry

Salary and bonus:

· Basic starting salary of up to £24k with

· OTE additional bonus potential of £23,000 per annum

· On-going training and continuous support

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30-37.5 per week

Salary: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
